Adding Press/Media

There are two options to add press/media items to Pure: via the automatic import or manually: create from template. The items that are automatically imported have the status ‘Entry in progress’ and are invisible until they are checked by you or the Medical Library.

To make a press/media item that was automatically added to Pure visible:

  1. Log in to Pure and click on ‘Press/Media’.
  2. To make an item visible, change the status from ‘Entry in progress’ to ‘For Approval’ and the visibility to ‘Public’.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page. The Medical Library validates the automatically imported press/media items periodically. If desired, you can use the steps below to edit the item.

To add a press/media item yourself:

  1. Click the blue ‘Add content’ button at the top right.
  2. Click on ‘Press/Media’ and select the appropriate template (e.g. Expert Comment, Public Engagement Activities, Research).
  3. Fill in, at least, all the fields marked with a red asterisk.
  4. After clicking on ‘Add media contribution or media coverage’, choose ‘Media contribution’ if you were involved in a press/media item, e.g., by providing an interview. Choose ‘Media coverage’ if a press/media item refers to your research but without your involvement.
  5. Choose a Media type (e.g. Radio, Television, Web, Newspaper, Podcast).
  6. Fill in the degree of recognition (International, National, Regional, Local).
  7. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.

The role that is mentioned at a press/media item is always ‘Research cited’.

To delete a press/media item:

You can delete a press/media item with the status ‘Entry in Progress’ or ‘For Approval’, by clicking on the red X on the bottom corner. A press/media item with 'Approved' status can only be deleted by the Pure team at the Medical Library.

In case you would like to delete a press/media item with ‘Approved’ status, or if you have any other question, please contact pure@umcg.nl.
