Adding Prizes to Pure

You can use Pure to record prizes and awards you have received for your research and related activity. You can link the prize to other related content in Pure, for example a specific research output for which you have received recognition.

You can add your Prizes to Pure manually.

  1. Click the blue ‘Add content’ button at the top right.
  2. Click on ‘Prize’ and select the appropriate format type.
  3. Fill in, at least, all the fields marked with a red asterisk.
  4. Fill in the degree of recognition (International, National, Regional, Local).
  5. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.

Grants given by a government or other organization for a particular purpose such as a research project are added by the research office or the medical library by using the 'Award' template. ‘Awards’ cannot be made visible on the research portal. If you want to show your grant on the research portal, you can optionally add it by using the ‘Prize’ template.

The following table provides an overview of the different types of prizes.

Reward or recognition related to research or educational activities, e.g. best presentation, poster, paper, teacher, researcher.

Fellowship awarded competitively

Research or teaching fellowship, e.g. Veni/Vidi/Vici Grant, Young Investigator Grant.

National/international honour

Honorary distinction received for merits or as a tribute, e.g. Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau, National Medal of Science.

Honorary degree

Honorary position at other university.

Election to learned society

Elected membership of scholarly, intellectual, or academic society, e.g. Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), Member of the (American) National Academy of Sciences.

Appointment

Elected appointment at an organization or committee, e.g. Board Representative, Fellow, Vice-president.

Other distinction

Distinction that does not fit into any other type.
